Cox diesel outboard engines – Cox Marine V8 300 and 350 V8 for commercial vessels
Cox Marine V8 300 and Cox Marine 350 V8 are high-performance Cox diesel outboard engines for commercial and governmental vessels. Cox Marine designed these engines for operators who need diesel economy and range, but still want the flexibility of an outboard installation. As a result, they fit workboats, patrol craft, rescue vessels and demanding leisure applications.
Firstly, the V8 architecture delivers high torque at low and mid rpm. This gives strong acceleration, safe manoeuvring in harbours and the ability to maintain speed in rough conditions. Secondly, the diesel fuel provides extended range and lower fuel consumption compared with many gasoline outboards in the same power class. Consequently, operators can run longer shifts between refuelling and reduce total fuel cost over time.
In addition, Cox Marine has engineered the V8 300 and 350 V8 for long service intervals and easy maintenance. Technicians can reach filters, service points and diagnostic connections quickly, even in tight engine wells. Moreover, the engines meet current emission standards, which helps operators comply with local and regional regulations.
From an installation perspective, Cox diesel outboard engines give naval architects and yards more options. For example, they make it possible to combine an open aft deck with diesel propulsion, or to repower an existing diesel inboard boat without rebuilding the entire driveline. Therefore they can be a practical alternative to inboard engines or waterjets in many commercial projects.
